The door slams shut behind Dean, drowning out the buzz of conversation and laughter, people already settling back down after the show. It's cloudy and dark, the muted yellow glow from the streetlamps deepening the shadows, but Sam hasn't gotten far.
Dean shakes the pain out of his knuckles and walks slowly over, setting on hand on Sam's shoulder. He tries for joking but knows his voice comes out more strained when he says, "Man, you gotta quit runnin' away on me."
